- 1 litre of still water
- 1/2 tsp. table salt
- 3 tsp. dextrose or household sugar
The WHO recommends that an adult person suffering from infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract should drink about 3 litres of this solution daily.
Alternatively, rice water also supplies minerals, antioxidants and vitamins. To obtain rice water, add a little rice to a lot of water and let it boil for as long as usual. If you want to obtain as much rice water as possible, you can take up to ten times as much water as rice.
Gentle food for the stomach
During the gastrointestinal flu, you should never completely stop eating. Instead, you need to adapt the diet in different ways. In fact, several small meals a day with a gastrointestinal flu works well.
As far as the choice of food is concerned, the first thing to note is that different people tolerate different foods well or badly. That’s why you have to take care of what you get and what you don’t get.
For example, apples work wonders for some people and certain gastrointestinal viruses. Tried and tested: slimy soup with oat flakes
Oat gruel is rich in B vitamins, provides many nutrients and soothes the irritated stomach.
Let about 20 grams of oatmeal simmer in a litre of water for ten minutes and add salt to the soup. If digestion goes on strike and all other remedies fail, there is no way around this slimy soup.
